I can have groups (folders) custom-made and displayed on my home screen.Ĥ) Quick Resume doesn't work on every title (sadly) but when it does work, it is hands down the best-functioning and most-reliable version of suspend between the Xbox and PlayStation platforms to me. it is the most customizable one of any of them available now.
I like that I don't need to maintain old hardware to continue playing these games, and they're among some of my absolute favorites from previous generations (even though I initially played all of them on my PS2 or PS3).ģ) I don't like the LAYOUT of the user interface on Xbox, but I do love its functionality. Some of them running and looking better than ever before. but it's also still the only platform I can natively run Metal Gear Rising, MGS2 and 3, and the FFXIII trilogy on. It is missing some games I'd still love to have (JSRF, any version of Marvel vs Capcom 2, etc). Still, it's nice overall that I can look at my digital library and it spans all the way back to my favorite titles from original Xbox. However, that's only turned out to be an advantage in a low number of titles, namely Elden Ring, where I find the technical experience superior by playing the last-gen version on a current-gen console - and I haven't personally found the need for that "advantage" with any other title.Ģ) Backwards compatibility not only honored my purchases from up to 3 generations ago, it also rolled out free enhancements for a few of my classic favorites that made some of them the best way to play these games. The cross-generation PlayStation experience to me is clumsy and messy IMO, but I will give credit to it for allowing me to run PS4 versions of games on my console - Smart Delivery does strip me of that option.
I found the overall user experience superior in a lot of ways that I found appealing, namely:ġ) Smart Delivery is a very weird thing to think about, but living with it as the standard has largely proven to be nice. Up until the start of this year, Xbox was my primary platform since 2017.
